
Raising Durham's tourism profile
Sophie launched the influencer strategy for This is Durham's 'amazing' campaign.
Word of Mouth founder Sophie worked on This is Durham's national marketing campaign, This is amazing, This is Durham, encouraging visitors to enjoy the county’s heritage attractions through a series of amazing experiences.
This is amazing, This is Durham was a campaign set up by destination marketing organisation Visit County Durham, in partnership with Beamish Museum, Durham Cathedral and Durham University, with the aim of showcasing the county’s heritage attractions, activities and events to help drive overnight stays.
Sophie launched the accompanying influencer strategy, which worked in partnership with national travel blogger Dan Flying Solo, who brought the campaign's elements to life. Visiting the area with Sophie for three days, he created three blog posts, a YouTube video acquiring 55,000 views and 4K video content and a selection of imagery for the destination.
The campaign was a huge success and Strategic Partner Beamish were thrilled to be involved in the press trip.
